FAQs

BEFORE THE RACE

Once you register, you should receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite. Make sure you check your spam and junk folders if you cannot find it. If you are having trouble finding it, contact info@distrcittriathlon and we’ll be able to confirm your registration.

Although we would love for you to participate, we understand that things happen. If you need to cancel your race entry, you will need to log into Eventbrite, select the Splash-n-Dash, and then cancel the order. If you’re unable to cancel the order through Eventbrite, please email info@districttriathlon.com.

You’re going to receive a really cool medal acknowledging your Splash-n-Dash accomplishment! In addition to a medal, you’ll receive a bib, safety pins and a swimming cap at packet pick-up.

To ensure safety, all participants must be aged 14+.

No, bikes, rollerblades, roller skates, skateboards, and scooters are not allowed anywhere on the course due to safety concerns. No, we love pets but cannot accommodate them at the event. The only exception is for required service dogs.

RACE DAY

The most important rule is to HAVE FUN! The Splash-n-Dash is all about building community through exercise. So, make sure you’re having fun while you swim and run/walk! Please listen to Volunteers wearing blue “District Triathlon” Shirts.

There is a lot of street parking around Kenilworth Recreation Center so parking should be fairly easy. If you can’t find parking nearby, you can park in the Kenilworth Aquatic Garden parking lot (4572-4598 Anacostia Ave NE, Washington, DC 20019) which is only a 10 minute walk from check-in at the Kenilworth Recreation Center.

If you’re taking the metro, Deanwood Metro Station is only .4 miles away. That’s only an 8 minute walk!

Yes, bag check will be inside the Kenilworth Recreation Center as soon as you come in. District Triathlon members will  monitor the bag check area the entire time to ensure your valuables are safe. Please note that bag check will promptly close at 7:30am.

There are two waves: Relay and Individual. Those that are participating in the relay will start at 8:10am and those participating as an individual will start at 8:20am. Remember, you MUST pick up your packet and have your transition area ready to go by 7:30am.

The Splash-n-Dash ends at 11am but, if you need more time to finish, we’ll be right there to cheer you on!

We have you covered. We’ll have trained medical support on hand to assist as needed. If you have any pre-existing issues that you want to let us know about, please send an email to info@distrcittriathlon.com

We have all kinds of support ready to help! In addition to onsite registration support, we’ll also have lifeguards and pacers ready to assist as needed. Look for the people in the blue shirts and we’ll be there to help!

Each person will receive a timing chip at packet pick-up which you will attach to your ankle. At the end of the race you’ll be able to see how you did (which will be great of course)!

We love volunteers! If you have some free time, we would love to have you. Send an email to info@districttriathlon if you’re interested in volunteering! Can’t wait to see you.

AFTER THE RACE

Bag check will re-open at 10am. So, once you’re finished, grab some water and gatorade and cheer on your fellow Splash-n-Dashers as you wait for bag check to re-open.

Following the event, we’ll send everyone an email with a link of all of the race photos to commemorate a job well-done.

If you have additional questions that are not mentioned above, shoot us an email at info@districttriathlon and we’ll make sure we address any questions or concerns you have.
